Matched pair of 19th century folding and reclining colonial campaign chairs. They are after an original design attributed to J. Herbert McNair who was part of the Glasgow group known as 'The Four'. The frames have pierced brass mounted quatrefoils to the sides. Original coloured button back slung seats and matching recently re-upholstered arms. The head rests offers two different positions and can be completely removed from the frame for storage. The chairs can also recline into four positions as well as folded flat for ease of transportation and storage. The dimensions given are for the chairs folded flat they will obviously alter when they are set into different positions.
